Northern Stage delivers a year-round programme of activity in the community, in schools and at the theatre where engagement with socio-economically disadvantaged communities and individuals is prioritised. Our project work is based on the belief that every individual has enormous creative potential and that creativity can be used as a vehicle for social change. We provide opportunities for people of all ages and from all walks of life to explore, develop and realise that potential.
Northern Stage is committed to supporting, developing and showcasing independent artists, strengthening the region’s arts infrastructure. Our training programmes provide an integrated framework of talent development opportunities that supports early career performers and companies through to mid-career and established artists.

Pay It Forward
The proceeds of our Pay It Forward appeal helps us to offer free or heavily subsidised tickets to our shows, workshop places and bursaries to community groups and young people who may otherwise be unable to attend.

Northern Stage is taking part in the Big Give to raise funds for theatre tickets for those children who wouldn’t normally get to experience the magic and creativity of live theatre this Christmas.
