balletLORENT – Animalia

Being pregnant. It’s an odyssey.

Growing a baby and getting ready to give birth is not a pastel experience. It is becoming your most primal, and facing yourself and your capacity to survive, love and protect. It’s facing the eye of the storm.

Lead dancer for balletLORENT Natalie Trewinnard hit her third trimester in February 2021 and we created a short film about the highs and lows in pregnancy.

ANIMALIA is a collaboration that brings the amazing talents of Liv Lorent’s choreography, Natalie’s performance skills, Ben Crompton & Vilte Balciunaite’s film making and Murray Gold’s music. Costumes by fashion designer Nasir Mazhar and lighting design by Michael Morgan.
