Northern Stage is running a free ‘Careers Behind the Scenes’ day for 16- and 17-year-olds. The day is run as part of the national BBC Bring the Drama festival, which aims to tackle the skills gap in craft roles and increase representation across the creative industries. You can read more about the BBC Bring the Drama festival and other national opportunities here.

What will you do?

Join us to:

  • Learn what a technical and production team does in a theatre
  • Take a backstage tour of Northern Stage
  • Take part in practical taster workshops in sound, lighting and stage management
  • Find out what other learning opportunities are available and how to get into a career in tech

How to sign up

We are running the session twice on Tuesday 12th March and Wednesday 13th March from 10am-5pm, and you can sign up using the links below.

Please note that spaces are limited and we will contact you to confirm if we can offer you a space on the workshop. For people who are already involved in Northern Stage groups – please note that because these workshops cover a lot of content which you will already be learning in our other groups and we hope to reach people not already taking part, we will first allocate spaces to people who are not already signed up to our groups. Please do still register your interest using the forms below, and we will let you know if there are spaces available.
