Are you aged 16-21 and interested in acting, theatre-making and film-making? Join our Young Company and be part of the creative team making our latest production: A Song for Ella Grey.
We're making a show with award-winning Tyneside writer David Almond and we need your help.
A brand new stage adaptation of A Song For Ella Grey will premiere at Northern Stage in September 2017 and our creative team, which features Artistic Director Lorne Campbell, Martin and Debbie Hylton and Mariam Razaei, want YOU to help make it.
Join us on an unforgettable creative adventure around the North East this summer, in locations like Bamburgh Beach and the Ouseburn Valley, where you'll work with industry professionals to experiment, explore and grow as a performer and a person.
How do I get involved?
First become a member of Northern Stage's Young Company! It's free and you'll need to be ready to create work with other young theatre-makers who share your commitment to performance.
If you would like to attend but you aren’t already member please email Philippa email@example.com to sign up.
Once you're a member, you can can book one week or all four. Each week we'll work on skills development (voice, movement and script work), creating material and then capturing all the magic on film and audio.
The final show will feature a single actor alongside the Young Company’s filmed and audio recorded performances, and the production will then tour to venues across the UK
IN WEEK 1: You will develop your skills as a performer and create material in the first part of the week at Northern Stage, then this material will be filmed on location around Ouseburn during the second part of the week. The site specific performance work created by the Young Company this week will feature in A Song For Ella Grey at Northern Stage.
You must be able to commit to a full week Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm each day.
Places are limited in some weeks, book early to avoid disappointment.
Thanks to the Clothworkers’ Foundation, it is free to take part in A Song for Ella Grey but places must be booked in advance.
